A yet-to-be identified young Nigerian man drowned while swimming in the Umm Al Quwain beach, close to the Al Bait Mutawahed walkway, UAE on Friday morning, April 21.
The UAQ police, in collaboration with the marine patrols of the third squad and national centre for search and rescue of Abu Dhabi managed to find the victim after several search attempts.
Investigations show that the deceased was swimming with three other compatriots who were rescued later, according to a senior police officer.
Major Obaid Ali bin Fadhil, deputy director of the police stations in Umm Al Quwain, said the central operations room of the UAQ police was alerted that a young man went missing while swimming in the beach.

"The search and rescue teams were dispatched to the site in a record time, where they could not initially find the victim, but managed to rescue the other three young men in his company."The drowning incident was attributed to the strong waves and seawater currents.
"The public is urged to be cautious while swimming, particularly when the sea is rough and the waves are high."
"We could not help used a chopped of the national centre for search and rescue and third squad of the coast guard to look for the missing young man until late on Friday night, Lt-Col Fadhil said. "The victim was found early on Saturday morning."
