US President, Donald Trump doesn't seem to be excited about his up coming meeting with Chinese President, Xi Jinping at Maralago next week. He tweeted: 'The meeting next week with China will be a very difficult one in that we can no longer have massive trade deficits and job losses. American companies must be prepared to look at other alternatives'.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, In 2015, 52,404 people died from drug overdoses. 63% percent of those deaths involved an opioid. Furthermore, since 1999, the number of overdoses from prescription opioids like oxycodone and hydrocodone, as well as illicit drugs like heroin, have quadrupled. In fact, heroin now accounts for one in four overdose deaths in the United States.  Now, a new study in the journal JAMA Psychiatry looks beyond the total number of overdose deaths to get a better picture of how heroin use patterns have changed since 2001. Since then, the number of people who have used heroin has increased almost five-fold, and the number of people who abuse heroin has approximately tripled. Canada will be marking its151st birthday in style, as recreational Marijuana will be legalized for all Canadians over the age of 18 by  July 1 . 2018. According to reports, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Liberal Party will officially announce the plan on  April 10 . The move comes after major political parties. As well, a majority of Canadians showed support to legalizing and regulating marijuana in line with the November recommendations of a federally appointed task force on the drug. In the proposed plan, the country’s federal government will oversee supply and licensing, while provinces would reportedly have the right to decide how marijuana will be distributed and sold. The report also indicated that Canadians will also be able to grow up to four marijuana plants in their household when it's finally legalized.

As a result of the multiple distress calls by Nigerian students in India on concerns on their safety following renewed attacks on them, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora has urged Nigerians in India to remain calm, be watchful of their surroundings. In a statement released in Abuja  on Wednesday  she said that the renewed attacks on Nigerian students’ in India was uncalled for. While condemning the mob action as unwarranted and deplorable, she noted that the Indian authorities currently have five suspects in custody.  She urged the Indian government to ensure that any alleged suspect should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. He sleeps with his cellphone charging in his bed but on one fateful Wednesday night, things went really bad. Former 'Power Ranger' star actor, Ricardo Medina Jr. was sentenced to six years in state prison for the stabbing death of Josh Sutter, Late Sutter was identified as Medina’s roommate by the LA County DA’s Office, though Medina’s attorney reportedly said the two were just friends, not roommates. Medina Jr. pleaded guilty earlier this month to one felony count of voluntary manslaughter and admitted to stabbing Sutter with a sword. Six years was the maximum sentence. The 38-year-old actor was arrested for the crime back in January, after he and Sutter allegedly got into an argument that turned physical.   According to LA County Sheriff’s Department, Sutter forced himself into Medina’s bedroom, where Medina had gone with his girlfriend in the midst of the argument. The actor then stabbed Sutter with a sword he kept in his room. Afterward, Medina reportedly called police and was arrested when they arrived. Former South Korean president, Park Geun -hye has been arrested over a high-profile corruption scandal that has already seen her ousted from office and prompted early elections. A court approved her arrest before dawn  on Friday , on charges of bribery, abuse of authority, coercion and leaking government secrets. The 65-year-old was immediately driven to a detention centre in the south of Seoul after the Court approval.   She is accused of allowing her close friend Choi Soon-sil to extort money from companies, including Samsung, in return for political favours. However, Ms.Park who was removed from office earlier this months denied the claims. Park Geun -hye, the third former president of South Korea to be arrested over criminal allegations, could be held for up to 20 days before being formally charged. If convicted she could face more than 10 years in prison.

A Pennsylvania man is accused of raping and killing his girlfriend’s 4-year-old son, and his mum is accused of helping him escape. 20-year-old Keith Jordan had been asked by his girlfriend to take care of her son, Bentley Miller, on March 21, because she had to go to work. After Mackenzie Peters left for work, Jordan called his mother, Kristen Harold, 43, that same morning, telling her that Bentley was in need of medical attention. On getting to the Super 8 motel in Butler, Pennsylvania where her son was staying, she picked Bentley who was bleeding profusely and started driving him to his biological father's house. When he became unresponsive, she pulled over and called 911 at around  9:30 a.m.  Bentley later died at Butler Memorial Hospital where he was rushed to.  Police disclosed that Kristen hid her son in the attic of an abandoned home in Butler to avoid police detection. 23 Nigerians were this morning deported from the United Kingdom for committing immigration-related offences in the country.  The deported Nigerians arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMlA) Lagos at about 6.a.m today March 31st. The deportees were brought back in a chartered aircraft.

13-year-old boy and his mother have died and his father is fighting for his life after they were stabbed at their home in Stourbridge in the West Midlands. Peter Wilkinson, 47, his 50-year-old wife Tracey Wilkinson and their son were stabbed by a man who was living with them after which he fled in the family's Land Rover then crashed it during a police chase.  Police and emergency services were called to their home in Greyhound Lane Stourbridge, West Midlands  on Thursday  morning following reports of an incident. The were all rushed to the hospital where the wife and son were later pronounced dead while the man is in critical condition. The police caught the suspect  thirty minutes later  in Norton Road, following a car chase. The man who is believed to be in his 20s  is currently in police custody and will later be questioned on suspicion of murder and wounding. A 3-year-old boy has died after he stepped into a jacuzzi in Ireland and got sucked under. Ronan Kennedy from Templederry in Ireland drowned at the Quality Hotel in Youghal, Co Cork, while at a kids club. His last moment was captured by a CCTV and it showed the child leaving the changing room and walking over to the jacuzzi.  He stepped into the tub and disappeared in July 2015. Kids club staff and other children were next to the pool but did not notice what was going on. Some people even walked past the jacuzzi but the boy was not visible beneath the bubbling water until minutes later when his body floated to the surface. Ronan's body was spotted by Liam Moloney, who was visiting the pool with his own son and grandson. He spoke about the encounter during the court hearing. A US federal judge in Hawaii has indefinitely extended the suspension of President Trump's new travel ban. Judge Derrick Watson's ruling means Mr Trump will be barred from enforcing the ban on six mostly Muslim nations while it is contested in court. In a lawsuit, the US state says the ban would harm tourism and the ability to recruit foreign students and workers. Judge Watson made the ruling late on Wednesday after hearing arguments from attorneys for the state of Hawaii and the US Department of Justice. The judge turned his earlier temporary restraining order into a preliminary injunction that would have a more lasting effect. President Trump's executive order on 6 March would have placed a 90-day ban on people from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen and a 120-day ban on refugees.
