A teenager has died after jumping into a canal located in Middleton, Manchester, England, with his friends, in a bid to overcome his fear of water. The 13 year-old victim, Flavio Rafael Pizarro, died in hospital nine days after he was pulled out of the canal.
He gave the gift of life to another in the hospital by donating his organs, with the permission of his family and doctors prior to his death.

His family is now calling on the Canal and River Trust to do more to warn young people of the dangers of jumping into water.
