New York rapper, Juelz Santana, 37, has begun serving his two-year sentence on gun and drug charges related to a March 2018 incident at Newark Liberty International Airport.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ website, Santana is currently an inmate at Petersburg Medium Federal Corrections Institution in Hopewell, Va. The facility has several educational programs inmates can enroll in, including a GED Program, vocational training, Adult Continuing Education, as well as Parenting Classes and Release Preparation. It also houses a Law Library which inmates can use at different intervals.
The rapper whose real name is LaRon Louis James was arrested in March 2018 after security staff at New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport found a loaded 38-caliber handgun and nonprescription Oxycodone pills in a carry-on bag containing his identification.
He abandoned his luggage and left the area, but turned himself in three days later.
In December 2018, Juelz was sentenced to 27 months in prison after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and carrying a weapon on an aircraft.
